Campaign 2008: "It's The Clinton's Stupid"

My fly on the wall overhead the following:

“Bill! why hasn’t he called me to say he would be honored

If I would accept the Vice Presidential nomination?”

“Don’t worry honey he will after all, we are the Clinton’s”

Everyone agrees that Hillary Clinton has lost the nomination and that Barack Obama will be the nominee.  Yet she refuses to acknowledge this simple, clear truth so that the vital process of blending her supporters into the democratic campaign can begin.  In her fantasy world where she is still in control, everything is upside down.  It’s as if Obama should be waiting by the phone in hopes she might offer him a spot on the ticket.

When Obama called Clinton to congratulate her on winning the South Dakota primary, Hillary was still angry and in denial so her campaign let the calls go to voice mail.  Barack Obama has to answer to his wife … Michelle Obama playing third fiddle in the White House? I don’t think so. That being said, there is little or no chance whatsoever of Obama selecting Clinton as his running mate, especially in light of her current antics.  All of which would make a mockery of his campaign.  However, failing to rule her out now keeps the lights on while the fat lady rehearses in the wings. Remember 1992 when Bill Clinton’s campaign had a sign on the wall reminding everyone that the campaign was all about the “economy stupid.”  Well this is 2008:

“It’s the Clinton’s, stupid!”
